Frequently asked questions
Are all your products NZ Building Code compliant?
All products in our wireless interconnected range comply with the updated NZ Building Code (C/AS1 and C/AS2, November 2024) and reference standard NZS 4514:2021. Our standalone alarms are compliant for existing homes and rental properties. If you’re unsure which products are required for your project, visit our NZ Building Code page.
What's the difference between standalone and wireless interconnected alarms?
Standalone alarms operate independently — they detect smoke or heat and sound their own alarm, but don’t communicate with other alarms in the home. Wireless interconnected alarms are linked via radio frequency, so if one alarm activates, every alarm in the system sounds simultaneously. Interconnected alarms are required for new builds and consented renovations under the current NZ Building Code.
